Description

A summer exhibition of fresh new work from gallery artists, Frances Bagley, Douglas Leon Cartmel, Ted Kincaid, Tom Orr, Matthew Porter, Jay Shinn, and featuring the addition of four new artists to the gallery's roster of talent: Archie Scott Gobber, William Lamson, Marc Lüders, and Pard Morrison.

“Cleverness seems to be the guiding principle in Archie Scott Gobber’s current exhibition.” (excerpt from recent ARTFORUM review). Fresh off his first solo exhibition with the gallery, Archie Scott Gobber’s newest work delivers equal doses of sincerity and sarcasm.

Scheduled for a solo exhibition in September, Marty Walker Gallery previews William Lamson’s new photographic series “Interventions”, where the artist photographs mundane urban settings, humorously altered, through the artist’s intervention. Lamson has recently exhibited internationally and lives in Brooklyn.

Information from the venue.

Laurie Anderson Laurie Anderson is indescribably delicious. She's hitting McFarlin tonight with her new show, Homeland, and you can bet it will contain intellectual stimulation and pure unadulterated weirdness in equal measure. An album will follow the Homeland tour in 2009. More info
