Description

Ma Teresa Gomez-Martorell recycles the same set of images into different works. These are usually of animals and nature; she feels that animals have symbolic meanings of strength, freedom, danger and aspects of feminine and masculine power.

The images are featured in small sculptures and in her prints on felt, mulberry and kitakata paper, fabric or corn husks. Then they may become part of a larger installation or a book. The repetition and multiplication of the image lends a feel of narration, translating the artist's personal experiences into a universal language.
