Description

Preservation is the Art of the City® functions as a non-profit art gallery to promote and support the success of local studio artists and historic preservation in Fort Worth, Texas. The 48 jury-selected artists paint in a broad range of styles and subject matters. (Please note: photography and sculpture are not exhibited at this time.) Many enter paintings in a special preservation themed category called “Stories of the City” which often depict iconic and vernacular Fort Worth buildings.

“The Celebration with the Artists” is the premier opportunity to purchase art before the art show opens to the public. Sponsored cash awards for outstanding artworks, named in honor of Fort Worth Circle Artists, are presented to selected artists at this event. The evening is sponsored by XTO Energy. The 2008 Preservation is the Art of the City® honoree is Ginger Head Gearheart, founder and Executive Director of Imagination Celebration Fort Worth. This year’s featured artist is Carol Ivey.
