Akira Sato Jazz trumpeter Akira Sato, by way of Tokyo, Japan and Vancouver, Canada, is an SMU faculty member and director of The Meadow Jazz Orchestra at SMU. He is also an adjunct faculty member at UNT where he teaches jazz arranging. Sato is also heading into the studio soon with other area musicians and playing at the Scat Jazz Lounge tonight. I love listening to Martha. She has a beautiful voice and her band is great! She played at my company Christmas party a while back and I've been a fan every since. I will definately catch this Sundays show and see where she will be next. She remind me of Chaka Chan.
