Colleyville Eco House Open House
Start date: Friday, March 6, 2009
Event is ongoing: Until Sunday, March 29, 2009
The Colleyville Eco House opens for public tours. A demonstration project for the US Department of Energy's "Building America" program to encourage homeowners and builders to live and build in a more fiscally and environmentally sensible manner, the house is an example of how Luxury Goes Green. The Building Science Consortium has included this home as one of their national projects for 2009. Additional certifications will include: • USGBC LEED-H Gold • Green Built North Texas • NAHB Green Build Program • Energy Star Guests will see the numerous “green” design, building, and decorating factors that made this a multi-certified house. From the overhangs on the porches, special wood clad, low-e windows, a sealed combustion fireplace, safe room, and unvented attic to the recycled glass counter tops, reclaimed oak floors, hydronic heating in the master bath, geothermal HVAC, and 3kw solar electric, and more, every part of the house reflects environmental awareness and energy efficiency. WHO: This luxury 4700 square foot home is another project by architect William Peck, (William Peck & Associates) and builder Chris Miles (GreenCraft Builders LLC), known for the Bannister High-Performance House. The Colleyville Eco House opens for public tours the weekends of March 6, 13, 20, and 27. Fridays and Saturdays: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sundays: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. 1708 Oak Knoll, Colleyville, TX 76034
