Tah-Tah Trees?
DEEP ELLUM Rumors abound again that Trees in Deep Ellum is shutting its doors for good after the last 2 shows of the year. I don’t have any sort of confirmation from the EC folks–.but then again, they are notorious for not returning phone calls or emails.
One rather interesting thing to note this time around is that a half-a-dozen shows or so scheduled at Trees in January and February have been officially moved to other venues–hmmmmm–
UPDATE: A little Deep Ellum birdie told me that it's true Trees is closing its doors. Since the EC filed Chapter 11, each business under their roof must split into their own entities and Trees is the first cut.
However, let's look at some positive things happening in Deep Ellum, shall we!?! Like the newly opened Kettle Art Gallery that has wowed art lovers for the past few weeks.
There are also new restaurants enjoying a booming business including Tarantino's and Crustaceans (a relocated authentic New Orleans restaurant).
