Insomnia research study

Do you have trouble staying asleep? Do you frequently wake up in the middle of the night and find it hard to go back to sleep? If you are tired of being tired, consider participating in a research study evaluating an investigational medication to see if it helps with insomnia. If you qualify for this study, you will come to the study center 5 times over 4 weeks and have some follow-up telephone calls. Compensation for participation is available if you qualify. This study is being conducted in Dallas. For information, call 972-4-DOCTOR (436-2867).

Research study participants generally do get paid for time and travel and are often considered heroes for participating in important studies. According to Readers' Digest, "Experts credit research volunteers with helping to develop treatments that have cut the male death rate from coronary heart disease by 50% and that now save the lives of 70 to 80 percent of the victims of childhood leukemia." And insomnia, while not a commonly noted killer is a big deal. Lack of quality sleep can put you at risk of depression, poor general health and even accidents.
