Leaning Tower?
A couple of months ago, there was debate about whether or not Tower Records on Lemmon Avenue was going to be replaced by a Dean & Deluca. Whatever the fate of the Dallas location, things don't look good for the chain as a whole, according to the LA Times, via Marketwatch:
"The newspaper said Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group Corp. (WMG) and EMI Group (EMI.LN) sources confirmed privately that each of the companies had stopped sending albums to the Sacramento, Calif.-based chain, which has struggled with declining sales as digital technologies have changed the way consumers buy music.
The L.A. Times, citing industry sources, said Sony BMG Music Entertainment also suspended shipments."
Kinda hard to sell CDs if you haven't got any.

Gregory, says:
They should've taken a hint from Virgin, being ushered out of Mockingbird Station. They'd both be just find if they didn't sell CDs for $19.99. I mean, we're not complete idiots. We know that even if we DO want an actual disc (like me) we can either get it online, go to CD World ($13.99) or CD Source ($11.99), or just find it used ($8.99). Granted, Tower is a WONDERFUL place to get hard-to-find titles... it's not the only way. And the prices scare me.
BOO!
