This is big news if you've been to the Texas State Fair in recent years. From the band's MySpace blog:
After 7 straight years and over 1,000 shows as a top attraction at the State Fair of Texas...THE KILLDARES will not be returning to perform at this year's 2006 State Fair. We've been told this is simply the result of the fair and the stage sponsor, Budweiser, deciding to make some changes in the entertainment program for the year.
To those who have been kindly emailing us, and waiting to see us at the Fair...we THANK YOU!!! We are truly grateful for your support. Thank you a MILLION times over!!! We'd also like to say a huge Thank you to Errol McKoy, president of the State Fair, and to all the wonderful staff who have been so kind to us over the years.
If you'd like to see THE KILLDARES back at the State Fair of Texas in 2007...please let the organizers know by clicking on the Fair link within this message. Remember...be positive, polite and constructive. The more energetic, the better! We'd love to have the State Fair know how much you want us back, and how much THE KILLDARES are part of your fair-going experience.
To all KD fans everywhere...we hope to see you again at next year's State Fair!

Big Tex, Corn Dogs, Killdares, Ferris Wheel ..... thats the four legged table that makes the state fair. Remove one of the legs and the table falls. Bring back the Killdares, and disregard the table metaphor.
