JD Whittenburg putting the finishing touches on his new album

Alt-country musician JD Whittenburg updates fans on the progess of his new album via his blog:

Alot of you who know me know I've been working with Salim Nourallah for the past year (Sept. 14th will mark the one year mark...) on a new solo album. I've worked with some amazingly talented Dallas musicians to track 14 songs. I think 11 will make the final cut. We have been mixing and I'm hoping one final session on Labor Day will conclude the studio portion of the project. If not, things will be dealyed for awhile since Salim departs on Wednesday for his Sensitive Guy Musical Invasion of Germanic Territories. Once we're done mixing, I'll send it off to be mastered. Then there is the artwork to take care of (the liner notes for this thing is going to be a bitch!). Then I begin the arduous process of shopping the completed project to labels. If I don't get any takers, I self-release on my Bump & Go label. I've had my sights set on an October release, but it may be more realistic to say that it will be out sometime in 2006. Hopefully.

I am really proud of each track. The album is definately a departure from anything I've ever done. Stay tuned and in the meantime, I'd appreciate you sending me some good mojo...
