Texas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities finds a new director

0

The Board of Directors for the Texas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities announced today that Wendy Odenbach has been named the chapter’s executive director.

Odenbach, a Fort Worth resident who has worked for major non-profit organizations for the past seven years, will assume her new responsibilities following tonight’s annual tree lighting and grant ceremony at Texas Motor Speedway. The event that will award a record $501,266 to 164 area children’s charities, however, will serve as her official introduction to the local charities and communities. The Texas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities plays host to a large array of events and promotions annually to raise funds for children’s organizations in Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant Counties.

“For the first time in history, the Texas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities has a lifetime, not-for-profit professional leading this chapter,” Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage said. “Wendy’s track record with other similar organizations and her familiarity with the Metroplex, particularly Fort Worth, should be of great benefit. Texas Motor Speedway is proud of Speedway Children’s Charities, and expects Wendy to take the chapter to even greater heights.”

Odenbach arrives at Speedway Children’s Charities from Easter Seals of Greater Northwest Texas, where she served as vice president of development. Among her responsibilities in that position was the management and fundraising goals for three key events, the “Putting on the Ritz” gala, corporate kickoff breakfast and “Walk With Me” walkathon.
