Carroll schools recognized for excellence by Texas Monthly
Make the 2006 list of 574 'high-performing' schools in the state.
Texas Monthly recently published a list of 574 high-performing schools in the state. As identified by the National Center for Educational Accountability (formerly 'Just for the Kids'), a research group at the University of Texas at Austin, the following Carroll schools made the cut:
Carroll Elementary
Eubanks Intermediate
Johnson Elementary
Rockenbaugh Elementary
Carroll Middle
George Dawson Middle
Carroll High
Carroll Senior High
According to Texas Monthy, the NCEA's criteria considers all the essential subjects: reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. A school's performance in these areas, compared alongside the demographic makeup of the student body, determines whether or not the school is deemed “higher performing.”
