Irving ISD elementary school menus are now peanut free
The Food Service Department recently announced all foods served in Irving ISD early childhood and elementary school cafeterias will be peanut-free. The change took effect December 1.
Some food served by Irving ISD may still be made or processed in factories that process peanuts, but no foods contain peanuts as an ingredient. This includes the elimination of peanut butter & jelly, Uncrustables sandwiches, and peanut butter crackers from the menu.
“Student well-being is always our top priority, and we trust that this move will make cafeteria foods a much safer option for students who have peanut allergies,” said Michael Rosenberger, director of food service.
