Euless’s IT Department digitizes land records
The IT Department in Euless, Texas has begun using GIS Web mapping applications to facilitate city planning.
Apparently, ESRI Web servers, coupled with Freeance commercial application-building software, has allowed the city to publish two web-mapping sites.
What does this mean in English? Allow GIS project manager David W. Allen to explain:
"This lets consulting engineers do their research from their office instead of trudging down to City Hall and hoping the clerk on duty can find what they're after."
Euless has also created an alternate web-mapping application that allows internal users as well as the public to retrieve engineering drawings of the city's utility lines.
