Lewisville Mayor awards families of fallen soldiers
This past week, the American Legion 182 of Little Elm organized a ceremony at the Veteran’s Monument in front of Lewisville City Hall to honor local fallen soldiers. Lewisville Mayor, Gene Carey, presented the families of Army Major Matthew Worrell and Army Private First Class Ryan McCauley with plaques honoring their services. Both men died while fighting in the line of duty in Iraq.
“I don’t really know what to say," Carey said. "One of the things I’m most proud of as mayor is this memorial we’ve built to honor our veterans."
