Wylie ISD announces teachers of the year
WISD announced the 2007 teacher of the year campus winners at a surprise luncheon December 6 at Woodbridge Golf Course. The teachers were selected by their peers at each school. Representing the secondary program (grades 7-12) are: Wylie High School -- Judy Webber, AP Chemistry; Special Programs Center -- Gay Watson, Special Education; Burnett Junior High -- Ana Travis, seventh grade Language Arts; and McMillan Junior High -- Diana Ridenour, eighth grade History.
Elementary winners (grades PK-6) include: Cooper Junior High -- Jamie Bramlett, sixth grade English; Davis Intermediate School -- Vanessa Hudgins, sixth grade Language Arts; Harrison Intermediate School -- Cassandra King, fifth grade Math and Science; Akin Elementary School -- Diane Hite, fourth grade; Birmingham Elementary School -- Debbie Watkins, third grade; Cox Elementary School -- Joanne Montes, third grade; Dodd Elementary School -- Jan Nichols, Kindergarten; Groves Elementary School -- Kiley Soroka, third grade; Hartman Elementary School -- Treva LaJaunie, third grade; and Tibbals Elementary School -- Diana Pecorino, Bilingual Kindergarten.
The teachers will be honored January 20, 2007 at the Wylie Chamber of Commerce annual banquet where the elementary and secondary teachers of the year will be announced.
