Some residents fight Outer Loop plans in Collin County
Collin County Commissioner's Court met in a special session Tuesday to vote for an ongoing study on the Outer Loop - specifically, the segment that will connect the future Dallas North Tollway extension to U.S. 75, and the segment from U.S. 75 to the Rockwall County line.
The new highway will be about 500 feet wide and 50 miles long. Ultimately, six lanes of highway, services roads and a rail line will plow right through the yards of some people, who aren't too thrilled with that.
For you road geeks, lots of Outer Loop history and plans may be found here.
