Republican judges load up criminal defense rotation with ousted colleagues
DALLAS Texas Lawyer reports that an overwhelming majority of Dallas County criminal district judges voted to place six of their colleagues ousted in the November elections on the rotation of attorneys for indigent felony defense. (Subscription required to follow link.)
According to TL, Mark Nancarrow, Manny Alvarez, Danny Clancy, Livia Liu, Becky Gregory, and Henry Wade Jr. received appointments to the rotation. All were voted out of office in the November Democratic sweep.
There is lots of debate in the legal community over whether these appointments are cronyism or a matter of putting experienced jurists on the job.

SocraticGadfly, says:
Hell, how many Republicans would do indigent pro bono of this type on their own if they were in corporate law offices?
