Flower Mound Girl Scouts send gifts to soldiers in Iraq
Fifth grade scouts from Wellington Elementary in Flower Mound collected and shipped entertainment and edibles to troops stationed in Iraq.
Cross Timbers Council’s Girl Scout troop 164 collected books, movies and edibles this month and sent them as thanks to American soldiers stationed in Iraq. The packages were sent to Lt. Col. Thomas Griffin and his fellow soldiers, who are currently responsible for training the new Iraqi police force.
The Girl Scout troop, led by Jennifer Beasley, Cathy Allen and Cindy Yorkand, consists of fifth grade students (Mary York, Stephanie Beasley, Kayla Siler, Cassidy Allen, McKaley Miller, Brooke Hallford, and Abby Osen) from Wellington Elementary in Flower Mound.
