SMU football bolsters defense with new cornerback/safety
Garden City Community College cornerback/safety Rock Dennis has signed to play for SMU and will enroll in January.
Dennis, a 5-10, 178-lb., two-star Rivals.com prospect, notched two interceptions, 92 return yards and a TD in 2006. The Leavenworth, Kansas, native also tallied 48 tackles, a blocked kick, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery en route to All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference honors.
"Rock is a good football player who gives us some versatility in the secondary," said SMU coach Phil Bennett. "He's played both corner and safety and his speed and ability to hit will be a valuable addition to our defense."
