Farmers Branch gets sued again over immigration housing issue
The American Civil Liberties Union and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund filed suit against the city of Farmers Branch today. The civil rights groups claim that the new ordinance banning landlords from renting to illegal immigrants violates federal law and forces landlords to act as immigration officers. The city already faces multiple lawsuits regarding the new ordinance which is scheduled to go into law on January 12th of 2007.
