Wylie honors city employees at Annual Awards Banquet
At its Annual Banquet held on December 19 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the City of Wylie recognized the following Award recipients:
- City Employee of the Year – Jeff Butters (Assistant City Manager/Police Chief)
Outstanding or top City Employee of the Year. This employee demonstrated excellent performance, productivity, loyalty, pride and other noteworthy accomplishments.
“Jeff brings leadership and a true caring attitude to the entire organization. He is a leader in every sense of the word, puts employees first and practices what he teaches while maintaining an extremely high level of integrity.”
- Customer Service Award – Wanda Forman (Human Resources Assistant)
This employee constantly provides quality customer service to external and internal audiences.
“Selected by a unanimous vote, Wanda is always ready to help, friendly and courteous. Even if she is having a bad day, you would never know it and Wanda makes sure everyone is taken care of.”
- Newcomer Award – Joyce Pollard (Accounts Payable)
This employee, who has been with the City less than a full year, has performed at a high level and made a significant contribution to the City.
"Joyce is a perfect picture of our mission. She always has a smile on her face, a kind word to share and always up to the challenge even if given something at the last minute.”
In addition to the main three awards, employees are able to create their own award to recognize fellow employees for a specific trait or accomplishment. This year, there were five (5) special awards presented.
- Iron Woman – Karla Stovall
- Silent Heroes – Fire Shift B-1
- Grace Under Pressure – Scottie Robbins
- Innovation Award – Cristen Williams
- Git-R-Done – Meter Services
