Haltom City Police Department offers two new emergency liaison programs
Registration forms are available for citizens to enroll in two new programs being offered by the Haltom City Police Department.
1. The Safe Return Program is an identification, support and enrollment program that provides assistance when a person with Alzheimer's or a related dementia wanders and becomes lost. There is an initial enrollment fee of $40 and an annual $20 administrative fee.
The Safe Return Program provides assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If an enrollee is missing, one call immediately activates a community and law enforcement support network, to help reunite the lost person with their caregiver. Click here for more information.
2. The second program, entitled Haltom City Emergency Liaison Program (HELP), is a free program designed to ensure the safety and well being of at-risk citizens. Citizens who suffer from dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other impairments may live alone and require checking on by the police department personnel.
Information regarding the person’s health condition and emergency contacts can be an enormous help to officers in these situations. Simply by filling out a registration form, these at-risk citizens can be identified, and vital contact information can be provided that will enable officers to respond to their needs in a more effective and timely manner.
Citizens will also have the ability to identify family and friends that can provide access to their residence when required. Citizens can obtain a key lock box at their cost that provides access by Fire Department personnel in an emergency situation.
To obtain forms for either program stop by the Haltom City Law Enforcement Center at 5110 Broadway Avenue, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., or online at www.haltomcitytx.com. For additional information, please contact Sgt. Jean Rowell of the Haltom City Police Department at 817-222-7000.
