New hospital opens in Mansfield
The new Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, located at 2700 East Broad Street, opened in Mansfield this Wednesday morning at 12:01 a.m.
15 minutes later, the emergency room had its first five patients—one of which was a Midlothian woman in labor.

Vanessa Kelley, along with her husband Chet, gave birth to the hospital's first baby—a mere four hours after the doors had opened.
At the end of the day, the hospital treated a total of 45 patients, says Kathleen Beathard, the hospital's vice president of public relations and marketing.
