Watauga Library will temporarily close for construction

The Watauga Public Library will be temporarily closed from January 3 – 27, 2007 and will reopen on Monday, January 29th. Construction began in September 2006 on a 5,000 square foot expansion on the west side of the Library. The anticipated completion date is March 2007. During the January phase of construction, it will not be safe for staff or the public to be inside the building.

Watauga residents may use their card at any MetrOpac Consortium Library, the closest of which are Keller Public Library, Summerglen Branch Library, and Haltom City Public Library. Also available for Watauga residents’ use are all Fort Worth Public Libraries, Richland Hills Public Library, Benbrook Public Library, and Burleson Public Library. Watauga books and media will not be due during the period when the library is closed, but if they need to be returned, one may do so at these libraries while the Watauga Library's bookdrop is closed. If a hold is placed on a title in the MetrOpac online catalog, please select one of these libraries to pick up those items, as one will not be able to pick them up at Watauga during January.

The Watauga Public Library also shares a reciprocal library service agreement with the following libraries: Bedford Public Library, Blue Mound Public Library, Hurst Public Library, North Richland Hills Public Library, and Saginaw Public Library. Watauga residents may obtain a library card from these libraries at no charge, upon providing required identification and verification of address. Titles checked out at these libraries must be returned to the owning library.
