The Watkins era has begun, 17 to leave prosecutor’s office

Newly elected Dallas District Attorney Craig Watkins gave notice that he will be firing eight top-level prosecutors on Wednesday. Among those that received pink slips were division chief Tom D'Amore, division chief Howard Blackmon, division chief Gary Arey, child abuse prosecutor Patricia Hogue, public integrity chief Pat Batchelor, part-time misdemeanor deputy chief Libby Smith, part-time misdemeanor deputy chief Chrissi Gumbert, and part-time misdemeanor deputy chief Kristine Primrose. Nine others from the prosecutors office will leave voluntarily before the Watkins era begins.
