Since the Arcadia burned down in June, the theater's destiny has been a giant question mark hovering over Greenville Avenue.
Now it seems the space left behind by the famed Dallas venue might become home to a mixed-use facility of residential, office space, and retail shops.
Tim Denker of Dunhill Partners Inc.—the group that owns the strip of Lower Greenville where the Arcadia, the Barrocco restaurant, Café Nostra, Condom Sense, Nuevo Leon, and Syn Bar are operated—confirms this plan, but tells the Lakewood People “we don’t do mixed-use, so we need to partner with somebody [else]."
But before things can really get under way, Dunhill Inc. hopes to find out what possible developments will be most acceptable to homeowners in the area. Perhaps buildings that won't catch on fire too much?
