Five Mile Creek bridge construction will affect traffic flow until August 2007

Bridge is "structurally deficient"

Here's the lowdown on the construction going on at Hwy. 67 near Loop 12, as reported by Michael Davis on his Dallas Progress blog.

TxDOT is replacing a bridge across Five Mile Creek which, as a result of ongoing erosion occurring in the stream below, they feel has been rendered structurally unsound. Who knew that erosion would occur in a stream bed?

Seems drivers on the northbound frontage road of 67 will need to detour onto Loop 12 and Polk Street until the new bridge is completed next August. Let's just hope the project doesn't turn into one of these.
