Robin Trower: Living Out Of Time-Live
This fascinating 13-song performance was recorded by the famous WDR Rockpalast on Robin Trower's 60th birthday, March 3rd 2005 at the Crossroads Festival in Germany. Trower's career has spanned more than four decades and he is considered to be one of the finest guitarists in Rock n' Roll history. He spent the early 60's playing guitar in various London based outfits, and received his big break 1967 joining Procol Harum. After leaving Procol Harum 5 years later, Trower embarked on his solo career and found great success. This DVD displays the fluid and powerful guitar style that has made him legendary.
Arctic Monkeys: Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not
Musically, there are bits of The Stone Roses, What's The Story Morning Glory, and Nevermind. As catchy as those reference points are, it's the songwriting that has won the band a fiercely dedicated following; a mix of the observational storytelling of Davies and Weller crossed with the harsher documentary eye of Mike Skinner of The Streets and 'Ghost Town'-era Specials.
Dilated Peoples: 20/20
Their fourth and most lucid effort to date, 20/20 contains thought-provoking concoctions like the minimalist backpacker anthem 'Back Again' and 'You Can’t Hide, You Can’t Run'.
Scarface presents: The Product - One Hunid
Scarface presents The Product's One Hunid features all new music from Scarface and newcomers Wil Hen and Young Malice. Features the single 'Gotta Get Out' and 'I'm A'.
Arab Strap: Last Romance
The Scottish rock and post-emo duo Arab Strap return with The Last Romance. This is the band's most aggressive album and retains the abrasive lyrics and stunning melodic beauty of past efforts.
Backyard Babies: Live Live In Paris
Live Live In Paris was recorded live in Paris, France on May 6th, 2004 at La Maroquinerie and collects the best songs from their releases and serves as a document to the live power that this Swedish band possess.
Bad Wizard: Sky High
The fourth full length release from New York’s infamous Bad Wizard is their watershed record. Produced by legendary rocker Jennifer Herrema of Royal Trux/RTX, Sky High shows a depth of songwriting and playing only hinted at in the band’s previous incendiary records.
Bril: Airless Alarm
The twelve tracks on Airless Alarm were produced by the band alongside Justin Gray (Joss Stone) and were mixed by studio veteran Tim Palmer (U2, Pearl Jam). With over a decade of friendships and musical partnerships among them (and two of them brothers), Bril are a prolific songwriting team who feel the twelve tracks chosen for the album wholly represent the "Bril sound". From start to finish Airless Alarm contains a stunning blend of blistering, yet thoroughly tuneful sounds that draw upon the best of both the soul-searching found in American alternative music and the ever-expanding sonic landscapes of Brit- rock.
Califone: Roomsound
Thrill Jockey is proud to reissue Roomsound, the debut full length from Califone. Originally released in April of 2001, Roomsound covers the same rustic, slightly ramshackle back forty that Tim Rutili has been ploughing since at least as far back as his previous band Red Red Meat. Only this time the tilled bedrock unveils the most vividly colored, luring crop of songs Rutili has ever harvested.
Cowboy Mouth: Voodoo Shoppe
For more than a decade, Cowboy Mouth has traveled the country, playing to more than 8 million fans and selling more than a half million records. Cake Magazine says, "On a bad night, they'll tear the roof off the joint, and on a good night, they'll save your soul." Now, New Orleans' favorite rock band is back on the scene with Voodoo Shoppe, Cowboy Mouth's first studio release in three years. The twelve new songs, including two written after Hurricane Katrina devastated the band's hometown, showcase Cowboy Mouth's powerful, heartfelt songwriting. To assist fellow gulf-coast citizens displaced by flooding, the band is allocating a portion of proceeds from each CD to the Cowboy Mouth Hurricane Relief Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization the band established in Katrina's aftermath. Standard Jewel Case.
Cracker: Get On With It: Best Of Cracker
Get On With It: The Best Of Cracker includes the definitive original recordings of the band’s ‘90s anthems, including 'Low', 'Get Off This' and 'Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now)'.
Cracker: Greatest Hits-Redux
Greatest Hits - Redux is the officially sanctioned Cracker greatest hits package, and is the title the band will encourage all of their fans to buy. Greatest Hits - Redux contains re-recorded hits by Cracker, such as 'Low', 'Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now)' and 'Eurotrash Girl'.
Czars: Before...But Longer
Given that Denver-based five-piece the Czars are so deeply marked by a sense of good taste and musical adventure, it makes great sense that they should have been signed to a label founded by Simon Raymonde and Robin Guthrie of the Cocteau Twins. The voice of singer John William Grant is an exceptionally moving cross between Michael Stipe and American Music Club's Mark Eitzel, possessed of an innocence and clarity not often heard since the '60s and psychedelic folk -- or at least since Michael Murphey.
Ray Davies: Other People's Lives
Ray Davies, one of rock and roll's most successful and influential songwriters, releases his eagerly anticipated solo album Other People's Lives on V2 Records, Written, produced and arranged by Ray, the LP features 13 stunning new songs recorded in Konk Studios, London.
Destroyer: Destroyer's Rubies
Vancouver's Dan Bejar returns with his sixth full- length under the moniker Destroyer. As expected, it's a thoroughly unexpected collection of clever pop music that takes no prisoners. "Destroyer's Rubies" weaves a narrative of loves won and lost, missed opportunities, and artistic integrity familiar to Destroyer fans. Bejar's Dylanesque flair for biting wit and his nods to the glamorous and bombastic folk approach of early T-Rex and Bowie distance Destroyer from the more straightforward pop of his other band, The New Pornographers, without sacrificing any of the tunefulness of that band's approach.
Dr. John: New Orleans Man
New Orleans Man is 2 CD set that contains the song's 'Crawfish Soiree', 'Just Like A Mirror', 'In The Night' and many more.
Eels: Live At Town Hall
Live At Town Hall captures E in a performance from his "With Strings" tour, playing a career-spanning sampler with a few covers while backed by two multi- instrumentalists and a string quartet. E's gruff Care Bear voice almost soars atop ingenious and sparse arrangements throughout: strings, xylophone and singing saw on 'Bus Stop Boxer', bass, piano and strings on 'Losing Streak'.
Elbow: Leaders Of The Free World
Elbow is a five piece from Manchester, England who have been playing together 14 years. 2003 finds the band writing the 3rd record on the road in a wee porta-studio. In 2004, Elbow began recording and producing on their own and the result is Leaders of the Free World. The album picks up where Cast of Thousands left off-delivering another stunning album of gorgeously epic songs. Also available with a bonus DVD.
Gong: Opium For The People
Opium For The People is a 2 CD set from Gong that features the song's 'You Can't Kill Me', 'Much Too Old', 'Tried So Hard' and much more.
Merle Haggard: Live From Austin Texas

Lashes: Get It
The Lashes are here and now and have validity in this era of new 'new wave' music. With the enjoyable work of Interpol, Bloc Party, and others that artistically plunder the gold mine of past sounds, The Lashes are as legitimate as those previously mentioned and can grasp the potential love of a much wider audience that include those that miss the old days and that younger audience that embraces the new mix of old culture in an updated styling.
Lilys: Everything Wrong Is Imaginary
New release from Philadelphia-based, Lily's. An impressive, mature effort that expands a predictable Brit-pop sound into something with varied textures, shades and nuance. The title track opens the disc with a riotious bloom of pop color. It's followed by sprawling, delicate gems.
Jonah Matranga: There's A Lot In Her
The CD contains some of his greatest songs and most rare recordings all in one place. The DVD features two complete live shows and 11 videos, one for each song off of the Onelinedrawing album The Volunteers released on Jade Tree. Consider this the first of many releases from the person that will play a show in a sold out club, or outside for three fans that couldn’t make it in. Jonah gives it his all every time, regardless of the amount of people in attendance. There’s A Lot In Here is interactive, explosive and heartbreaking. Jonah Matranga is an artist with a fresh outlook on what a songwriter is and can be. Just wait, there’s a lot more to come.
Maximo Park: Missing Songs
After an incredibly successful World Tour, including recent sell-out shows in Australia and a UK Mercury Prize nomination, there's no denying that Maximo Park have a massive fan base now firmly set, as one of the top Indie rock bands in the world today. After huge exposure on radio via the singles 'Apply Some Pressure', 'Going Missing', 'Graffiti', 'The Night I Lost My Head' and 'The Coast Is Always Changing', the band now releases a fan-friendly CD comprising their B-sides and extra non-LP tracks recorded to date.
M's: Future Women
This sophomore effort contains gorgeous, sweeping three-part harmonies recollecting fuzzed out '60s-era Brit pop and '70s-era T. Rex, cut and reformed with a glimpse toward the future. The band has already received accolades and earned a status in the Chicago scene primarily reserved for bands with ten or more years of history. They've played with Wilco, Broken Social Scene, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The French Kicks, Spoon, Stars, Stephen Malkmus, The Walkmen, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and more.
Nebula: Apollo
A sonic trip awaits those unfamiliar with the gospel Nebula are preaching. Born and raised on the diverse Southern California music scene, Nebula mainstays Eddie Glass and Ruben Romano (both formerly of Fu Manchu) draw a majority of their influence from the psychedelic ‘70s rock and punk movements. These conscious-expanding rockers have developed a following over the past few years that extends beyond the confines of any one specific genre. With near constant touring, four full-lengths and three EPs under their belt, Nebula still remains somewhat of an underground sensation.
Nelly & The St. Lunatics: Who's The Boss
Before he told us to 'Shake Ya Tailfeather', before he made things 'Hot In Herre' and before he introduced us to his Country Grammar, there was Nelly & The Tiks. Features unreleased and exclusive tracks showcasing the underground St. Louis movement that started it all. Includes the singles 'Gimme What U Got' and 'Check The Rhyme'.
Om Lounge: Vol. 10-Om Lounge
On milestone ten of this coveted series, Om introduces a new batch of burgeoning international downtempo artists making waves in the sea of underground chilled beats. Fans of Thievery Corporation, Jazzanova, and Kaskade take note. Artists include Samantha James, Gil T, Shazzam, Joey Youngman, Simeon, Hideo Kobayashi, and more.
Om: 10-A Decade Of Future Music
This ten-year anniversary 3 CD set contains new and never before released tracks from the entire Om roster, along with classics from the last decade. Be it Om's trademark jackin' funky deep house, soul based hip-hop, groovin' downtempo, and everything in between, this album has a lil' something for everyone. Artists include Marques Wyatt, Mark Farina, Afro- Mystik, Kaskade, King Kooba, Rithma, Colette, J Boogie, Seafoam, and much more.
Os Mutantes: Tecnicolor

This is the first official U.S. release of the landmark cult album featuring a one-of- a-kind fusion of extreme Brazilian psychedelic pop known as Tropicalia. Tecnicolor includes timeless standards by legendary composers such as Caetano Veloso ('Baby') and Jorge Ben ('She's My Shoo Shoo'). Tecnicolor has long been considered a revolutionary recording with its guitar lines, tape experimentation and unique songwriting sense. A work of towering influence, Tecnicolor will be a fixture in any music lovers collection.
Polysics: Now Is The Time!
The sound of Polysics has matured and grown with every release. Even if you’re not a fan of music tagged as New Wave or Techno Pop, be sure to check out the history of this ever-evolving one-of-a- kind band.
Proposition: Soundtrack
A powerful western drama set in the savage Eden of 1880s Australia, The Propositionis an elemental story of family conflict and primal violence, destructive love and divided loyalties. Featuring an international superstar cast including Guy Pearce, Ray Winstone, Emily Watson and Danny Huston, it is directed by John Hillcoat from a specially commissioned script by the globally acclaimed singer-songwriter Nick Cave. Cave has also composed the film's soundtrack in conjunction with Warren Ellis, his longtime Bad Seeds collaborator and multi-instrumentalist frontman of The Dirty Three. Incorporating soft chamber pieces, ghostly moodscapes and whispered laments, these 16 tracks are as starkly beautiful as the landscape of the film. Story and music are closely intertwined.
Shaggy 2 Dope: F.T.F.O.
Jumpin' out in front, and all 'cross the mixing board with this one. It's fluid flows and even beats, then staccato screamin' or hard headbangin'. He's an O.G. gangbanger, spittin' street stories, plus the child- supportin' family man, keepin' it all kinds of real. He's the old-school angry Shaggs, a smooth smartass, and the wry, ruthless, rapper the fans have grown to love. He's funny, fucked-up, and fresh, and puttin' it down the way you love, a way you ain't ever heard it before. Believe that.
Souls She Said: As Templar Nites
This is the first full-length from Icarus Line frontman Joe Cardamone and guitarist Don Devore. Its nine tracks are a departure from the Icarus Line and serve as the more beat driven, dark indie rock cousin to Icarus Line's beautifully gory lo-fi sound. "As Templar Nites" still incorporates Cardamone's haunting voice and lyrics and Devore's perfectly jagged and distorted guitar works. Guests include members of the Philadelphia noise band Need New Body and Euphone.
Street Drum Corps.: Street Drum Corps.
Made up of members of S.T.U.N, Circus Minor and The Start, Street Drum Corps has been working together since 2004 to search for different sounds and make the world a better place according to co- founder Bobby Alt. Kevin Lyman describes the group as a 'punk-rock STOMP'. Using both conventional and unusual instruments such as hand drums, acoustic drum kits, marching band equipment and a Moog Theremin along with household items like buckets, kitchenware and recycled aluminum garbage cans, Street Drum Corps certainly bring something unique to the table.
Derek Trucks Band: Songlines
Songlines, is the first new recording by The Derek Trucks Band in nearly four years, and the first studio album to feature the full-throated, impassioned vocals of newest DTB member, Mike Mattison. Songlines signals the DTB's arrival at a spiritual plateau after a decade long journey of musical discovery, and cements Trucks' reputation as one of the greatest guitarists of his generation. While Songlines embraces the group's big-eared love of rock, jazz, blues, latin and world music, it is unquestionably their most cohesive album to date.
Tony Joe White: Live From Austin Texas
Recorded live December 5, 1980 and features the classic 'Polk Salad Annie' along with 'Mama Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up Tp Be Cowboys'.
Every week, CD World publishes a newsletter featuring the latest releases.
