Arctic Monkeys: Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not

Musically, there are bits of The Stone Roses, What's The Story Morning Glory, and Nevermind. As catchy as those reference points are, it's the songwriting that has won the band a fiercely dedicated following; a mix of the observational storytelling of Davies and Weller crossed with the harsher documentary eye of Mike Skinner of The Streets and 'Ghost Town'-era Specials.

Dilated Peoples: 20/20

Their fourth and most lucid effort to date, 20/20 contains thought-provoking concoctions like the minimalist backpacker anthem 'Back Again' and 'You Can’t Hide, You Can’t Run'.

Bad Wizard: Sky High

The fourth full length release from New York’s infamous Bad Wizard is their watershed record. Produced by legendary rocker Jennifer Herrema of Royal Trux/RTX, Sky High shows a depth of songwriting and playing only hinted at in the band’s previous incendiary records.

Bril: Airless Alarm

The twelve tracks on Airless Alarm were produced by the band alongside Justin Gray (Joss Stone) and were mixed by studio veteran Tim Palmer (U2, Pearl Jam). With over a decade of friendships and musical partnerships among them (and two of them brothers), Bril are a prolific songwriting team who feel the twelve tracks chosen for the album wholly represent the "Bril sound". From start to finish Airless Alarm contains a stunning blend of blistering, yet thoroughly tuneful sounds that draw upon the best of both the soul-searching found in American alternative music and the ever-expanding sonic landscapes of Brit- rock.

Califone: Roomsound

Thrill Jockey is proud to reissue Roomsound, the debut full length from Califone. Originally released in April of 2001, Roomsound covers the same rustic, slightly ramshackle back forty that Tim Rutili has been ploughing since at least as far back as his previous band Red Red Meat. Only this time the tilled bedrock unveils the most vividly colored, luring crop of songs Rutili has ever harvested.

Cowboy Mouth: Voodoo Shoppe

For more than a decade, Cowboy Mouth has traveled the country, playing to more than 8 million fans and selling more than a half million records. Cake Magazine says, "On a bad night, they'll tear the roof off the joint, and on a good night, they'll save your soul." Now, New Orleans' favorite rock band is back on the scene with Voodoo Shoppe, Cowboy Mouth's first studio release in three years. The twelve new songs, including two written after Hurricane Katrina devastated the band's hometown, showcase Cowboy Mouth's powerful, heartfelt songwriting. To assist fellow gulf-coast citizens displaced by flooding, the band is allocating a portion of proceeds from each CD to the Cowboy Mouth Hurricane Relief Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization the band established in Katrina's aftermath. Czars: Before...But Longer

Given that Denver-based five-piece the Czars are so deeply marked by a sense of good taste and musical adventure, it makes great sense that they should have been signed to a label founded by Simon Raymonde and Robin Guthrie of the Cocteau Twins. The voice of singer John William Grant is an exceptionally moving cross between Michael Stipe and American Music Club's Mark Eitzel, possessed of an innocence and clarity not often heard since the '60s and psychedelic folk -- or at least since Michael Murphey.

Eels: Live At Town Hall

Live At Town Hall captures E in a performance from his "With Strings" tour, playing a career-spanning sampler with a few covers while backed by two multi- instrumentalists and a string quartet. E's gruff Care Bear voice almost soars atop ingenious and sparse arrangements throughout: strings, xylophone and singing saw on 'Bus Stop Boxer', bass, piano and strings on 'Losing Streak'.

Proposition: Soundtrack

A powerful western drama set in the savage Eden of 1880s Australia, The Propositionis an elemental story of family conflict and primal violence, destructive love and divided loyalties. Featuring an international superstar cast including Guy Pearce, Ray Winstone, Emily Watson and Danny Huston, it is directed by John Hillcoat from a specially commissioned script by the globally acclaimed singer-songwriter Nick Cave. Cave has also composed the film's soundtrack in conjunction with Warren Ellis, his longtime Bad Seeds collaborator and multi-instrumentalist frontman of The Dirty Three. Incorporating soft chamber pieces, ghostly moodscapes and whispered laments, these 16 tracks are as starkly beautiful as the landscape of the film. Story and music are closely intertwined.

Souls She Said: As Templar Nites

This is the first full-length from Icarus Line frontman Joe Cardamone and guitarist Don Devore. Its nine tracks are a departure from the Icarus Line and serve as the more beat driven, dark indie rock cousin to Icarus Line's beautifully gory lo-fi sound. "As Templar Nites" still incorporates Cardamone's haunting voice and lyrics and Devore's perfectly jagged and distorted guitar works. Guests include members of the Philadelphia noise band Need New Body and Euphone.

Street Drum Corps.: Street Drum Corps.

Made up of members of S.T.U.N, Circus Minor and The Start, Street Drum Corps has been working together since 2004 to search for different sounds and make the world a better place according to co- founder Bobby Alt. Kevin Lyman describes the group as a 'punk-rock STOMP'. Using both conventional and unusual instruments such as hand drums, acoustic drum kits, marching band equipment and a Moog Theremin along with household items like buckets, kitchenware and recycled aluminum garbage cans, Street Drum Corps certainly bring something unique to the table.

Derek Trucks Band: Songlines

Songlines, is the first new recording by The Derek Trucks Band in nearly four years, and the first studio album to feature the full-throated, impassioned vocals of newest DTB member, Mike Mattison.
