Mar: The Silence

Mar's Debut Album 'The Silence' Features Jimmy LaValle Of The Album Leaf and Samuli Kosminen Of Múm!!! 'The Silence' Was Recorded In Reykjavik, Iceland And It Was Produced By Gunnar Tynes Of Múm (His First Album Production), Iceland's Axel Árnason, Jimmy LaValle, And Samuli Kosminen. Mar was my mother's name. She passed away of cancer in 1999. Even when there were no signs of hope, she dreamed ridiculous dreams. Everyone should dream ridiculous dreams. It's our only chance to do so. Mar was founded by me, Kyle Reidy in early 2004. We went through several changes in line-up before settling with the final four who pulled through and actually recorded the debut album a year later. Patrick Atkinson (electric guitar), Nate Reed (electric guitar), and Claire Long (keyboards) were a part of Mar with me until April of 2005, after a tour with The Album Leaf. All three are very intelligent and creative musicians and each of them had their share of writing 'The Silence'. After the tour everyone went their own way and I stayed with the name and will continue to make Mar albums and do live tours. * Indie Store Exclusive!

New DVD Release

Stoned

Johnny Cash: American V: Hundred Highways

This album is a continuation of the highly popular and critically acclaimed series of American recordings produced by Rick Rubin. The series began with 1994’s acclaimed American Recordings, followed by Unchained (1996), American III: Solitary Man (2000) and American IV: The Man Comes Around (2002). American V contains 12 tracks and includes one Johnny original, 'Like The 309' (the last song that Johnny wrote and recorded before he died).

Rise Against: Sufferer & The Witness

Chicago’s Rise Against is anything but a single-minded musical outfit. An astounding fusion of unhinged power, ear-grasping melodies, stimulating lyrics and the ability to reach audiences in both underground and mainstream circles, they have redefined the rules. "We’re a band that’s done everything from hardcore songs to pop songs to acoustic ballads that get played on the radio," says vocalist/guitarist Tim McIlrath. The Sufferer & The Witness, their 4th album, continues to build upon the solid punk foundation - it is a striking collection, with Rise Against using elements from spoken word, expanded balladry, and simply plodding forward with a faster, harder, louder ethic. *CD World Pick!

Banco De Gaia: Farewell Ferengistan

Toby Marks, the creative force behind Banco De Gaia, is one of the world's leading exponents of globally inspired eclectic electronica. He mixes electronic and acoustic instruments and his distinctive vocal style has influenced an entire generation of artists. Banco de Gaia’s latest, Farewell Ferengistan, once again mixes up sounds from around the planet with slamming grooves and ambient meditations. From the Bhangra-esque dance monster 'Kara Kum' to the epic 'Saturn Return', Ferengistan is filled with the kind of fresh sounds that won Banco a rabid fan base around the world.
