Good Times At Central Market

Beautiful evening under a blue Cadillac Sky in Fort Worth. Check out the video.

A pretty good crowd showed up Thursday night at the Central Market in Fort Worth to listen to Cadillac Sky play some of the best bluegrass in this fair country. Back in J-School they would tell you to count or ask someone to estimate how many people showed up at an event. But you know what, J-School? You never said anything way back then about shooting video (because no one had a clue what the Internet was - fancy those dang days), which is what I was doing instead of gay (in the classical sense) counting, so the fine readers of this site could hear and see what the heck was going on, instead of using old-fashioned, gay (in the classical sense) words. I must admit I was also lazy and could have counted but didn’t. Not apologizing, just admitting.

But I've included a photo of the patio at the start of the night to sort of give you an idea of the setup, and to give the Dallas and Plano stores an idea of how to better spend their money. (They also need to get really good San Marzano canned tomatoes and country ham from Virginia. You can get ham from all over the world at Central Market, but what in the sweet bacon-smelling name of Charlotte's Web is that store doing not getting ham from right here in the States that kicks the other countries’ ham butt?)

Overall, great stuff. The show lasted about three hours. At the time it only seemed like about an hour and 17 minutes or so. Started at 6 p.m., looked at the clock when it was done and said, “It’s not 9, is it?” Oh yes, friend. It was 9. On the radio heard Ray Price sing “For the Good Times” on the drive back home, some Conway Twitty, some other good stuff. Man, you should have been there. Anyway, you can pretend you were for one song, with this video of C-Sky playing “One Night With You.”

And, again, here’s a video interview with the band. They’ll be touring America in the next few months but have some good things planned at home in the near future. Stay tuned.
