Big thanks to Matty from Meet Goodwin for giving us the scoop. Here is his email, along with some great commentary about the awards ceremony itself.

Here's what I remember of the winners from the FWWeekly Music Awards. Take the listings from "Song of the Year" onward with some caution. Since I was nominated for 3 different bands, I ended up with extra drink tickets. Yeah, rock star life :-)

Rock Band: Black Tie Dynasty

New Artist: Wonderful Facade

Live Band: Darth Vato

Hard Rock: The Me-Thinks

Folk/Acoustic: Cadillac Sky

Avant Garde/Experimental: Blonde Girls

Rap/R&B: Smooth Vega

Cover Band: Me and My Monkey

Texas Music: I don't remember for sure. Jason Eady I think.

Alt-Country: Collin Herring

Jazz: Confusatron

Blues: James Hinkle (i think. damn beer.)

World Music: Sleeplab

Female Vocalist: Maren Morris. She looked ever so tiny on that big stage.

Male Vocalist: John Price, who had his baby boy with him to accept the award. Nice touch :-)

Songwriter: Tim Locke (Calhoun)

NOTE: after this, my recollection begins getting a little fuzzy.

Song of the Year: "These Tears Could Rust a Train" by The Theater Fire

Rock Song Of The Year: "Piece It Together" by Green River Ordinance. They were playing a show Sunday night at the Gypsy Tea Room, and a couple of their moms showed up to pick up the awards. Music is a family thang out here in the Fort.

Album of the Year: Everybody Has A Dark Side (The Theater Fire)

At this point, Taz Bentley from the Burden Brothers was invited on stage to guest-present the last two awards.

Rock Album of the Year: The Beauty of Letting Go (Green River Ordinance). The moms once again came up to pick up the award, earning a loud "MILFs!" from Mr. Bentley.

Artist of the Year: Green River Ordinance. More moms, more "MILF!"
