Dallas rapper Big Tuck promotes his home city artists and rips local radio in an interview with ballerstatus.net. An excerpt:
Ballerstatus.net: That brings up a good question, man. This isn't a question I had meant to ask, but I think that it's important that we speak on this because I believe it's a problem that should be addressed. Why is it that you don't hear too much Dallas music on Dallas radio stations? It seems like there's no love coming from over there.
Big Tuck: Man, really, f--- them radio stations 'cause they don't play Dallas music, man. They ain't gon' play your music AT ALL unless you got a machine behind you or you paying 'em. Those PD's (Program Directors) ain't gon' do anything, unless you big as 50 or Jay. Like I said before, YOU gotta hit the road and grind for yours and make a buzz for yourself first.

Sounds normal.. that's the way they do it in Houston... I wouldn't expect anything different in Dallas... and YES Dallas can be WAY cooler than Houston...

These are same radio stations that "claim" to have put DSR in rotation before they blew. Let me note the claims came after their deal. Thats Bullst. I second that FK THE RADIO TUCK. The Program Directors and most of the dj's don't give a damn about Dallas indie music.....most of them aren't even from here....and some are obligated to push the music from the city where they are from. Thats why we get songs playing over and over from every city but Dallas.....God help this city.

Uhhhh. Is no one here familiar with KNON? Playing local music on multiple different formats around the clock? From gospel to country to metal to blues? And they've been doing it for almost 23 years.
