March Madness Rap Battles
Help us crown the first ever TexasGigs rap battle champion. VOTE to send your favorite battler to Round 2.
PEGASUS NEWS WORLD HEADQUARTERS — Welcome to the first annual TexasGigs March Madness rap battle.
Round 1: Local Rappers Battle Vanilla Ice
With the help of Ch0 from DFWHipHop and local rap battle legend Headkrack, TexasGigs sent out an open invitation to any rapper who wanted to show off his battling skills. Six brave lyricists answered the call. These rappers were given photos of local celebrities. Immediately after seeing the celebrity, they were given 90 seconds to battle who they saw. For round one, we gave the artists a picture of Vanilla Ice.

Who was able to battle the Vanilla man down to size? Who dares talk bad about Mr. Van Winkle? We will let YOU decide who did the best job.
Fans can vote once a day for their favorite of our six battlers throughout the week. Voting will end next Sunday. The two rappers with the most votes will get an automatic pass into Round 2.
Meanwhile, we will have two celebrity judges rank all six of the rappers from best to worst. Based on their feedback, two more rappers will advance to Round 2 of the rap battle.

First to Mike: no, we will not have a consolation bracket, however all the footage of the rappers that do not advance will be shown on the site after the completion of the rap battle.
Second to Pugeez: was the "fresno" song that one with the line about "feeling like a Christmas tree in November?" When I heard that line, I felt as though someone had cut me wide open and copied into words my deepest feelings. What a songwriter. I hope TexasGigs interviews that guy, but someone else will need to do the interview. I think I would be too intimidated by his genius. Next to him, I truly would be "like a Christmas tree in November"
