Junkadoodle

Email Print Tell us your story Comment (1)

A handful of days a month, I pack up my laptop and head over to Bettyann & Jimbo's Junkadoodle where I work part time.

I particularly love it there because I love the owners and my other co-workers. I can slide this little story in here because, well for one, sooner or later this site is gonna launch other areas, plus there are definite ties to Bettyann & Jimbo's and the local music scene:

1) Clay Pendergrass' wife Tori owns and runs Pigment School of the Arts next door.

2) Rebecca Johnson, wife of Jay Johnson works at B&J's on opposite days.

3) John Garrett (formerly with Tweed) worked here before me.

4) Jay Johnson will perform at the Flea Market on April 29th.

5) We are planning some outdoor intimate concerts later in the Spring and Summer.

Click here and listen to John Garrett's unreleased song "Hold Your Hand" (or "heart" I can't remember) while you look through the photo gallery. It's just a demo from a CD he gave me a couple of years ago...but I really love this song.

Come see us sometime!

The Magnetic Fields Quartet led by songwriter Stephen Merritt is resolutely "indie" so how come their music has been used in a Volvo commercial and appeared in the film Lemony Snicket? More info
