I've always been sort of obsessed with my desire to meet Faris Nourallah in person. I adore his brother Salim, who often writes of their childhood together in his lyrics. However, the few times I've brought up the subject of Faris to Salim, he didn't much wanna talk about it.
In a story by Sarah Hepola back in February of 2005, a lot more indepth history on the relationship between the brothers and Faris' refusal to leave the confines of his home were brought to light. But I digress. I still wanna meet the dude, and perhaps someday I will - meantime, he's dropped a new album and that's what I'm here to talk about.
According to his blog, Faris signed a publishing deal with Acuarela Discos back in March of this year.
Il suo cuore di transistor has officially been released and can be purchased at Italy-based Awful Bliss.
I haven't heard the entire album - yet - but I have heard one song Faris loaded on his MySpace - "Lifeboat" - and I find it to be divine.
I'm off now to purchase the album - more on that later. Meantime if you see Faris - tell him to - call me!
