So I am writing this blog to first and foremost to clear up some rumors and downright dirty lies that have been floating around about the psudo-metal project Downward. I call it psudo-metal because the two members that caused the break up of the band turned out to be phony, fake-ass, posers. First off the truth: Yes we had small label interest and yes we were recording with a multi-platinum record producer who was going to pass our album/ demo to the bigger, indie- metal labels. We didn't finish the recordings, the band broke up and that's as far as anything went. Now for the bullshit. Some former members of the band, whom we will refer to as Anton and Craterface, had been telling people that we were signed and were going to be on Ozzfest. I found this out by some sources after the break-up of the band. Total bullshit. We were never on a label and were never approached to play on Ozzfest. Another lie I have heard around town was that we had someone pay for our recordings with the multiplatinum record producer. This was a lie, we funded the whole project ourselves with our own money and didn't even finish the recordings. So to sum things up Downward never had a record deal, never played Ozzfest, was never funded by some magical source of outside income, and threw away $10,000 + dollars on a recording that we did not finish. So how did all of this happen you may ask, I will tell you.
