Denton County wants to end border fight with Tarrant County
Denton County commissioners Tuesday approved paying $134,000 in bills and fees to settle a decade-old border battle with Tarrant County.
The two counties have been fighting in court over 3,500 acres near Alliance Airport and the potential millions in tax dollars associated with the area.
After Denton County pays those court costs and surveyors' fees, the two counties can ask District Judge Jeff Walker to accept the settlement and bring an end to the battle, Denton County Judge Mary Horn said.
