Interview with Maria from Buzz-Oven
Maria Brunko, one of the head honchos in charge of Buzz-Oven Dallas, stopped by the office the other day to talk to TexasGigs. For those of you who are not familiar with Buzz-Oven, they are instrumental in helping several local bands get started and get exposure to the Dallas/Fort Worth music scene. Some bands that have been associated with Buzz-Oven include The Paper Chase, Radiant*, Slow Roosevelt, The Burden Brothers, Bowling for Soup, and Flickerstick, among many others. As if grassroots promotion of local bands and free CDs aren't enough, they also help you score free burritos! Here are some of the subjects we covered in the interview:
-What Buzz-Oven is and what it does for local music.
-How it's organized, how people can get involved, and, of course, how they get those burritos!
-What the heck is Buzz Combat?
-Buzz-Oven tours, Volume 18, and the Christmas Show featuring Eisley.
