Lakewood home to two members of Congress

Pete Sessions, R-Texas, and Jeb Hensarling, R-Texas, call Lakewood home, making the community unique in that it has more representatives than some states can claim.

Hensarling and Sessions likely could live anywhere within their respective congressional districts. The 5th District of Texas, represented by Hensarling, includes Lakewood, Lake Highlands, East Dallas, and portions of Garland, along with all of Mesquite, Sunnyvale, and Seagoville, according to the House of Representatives website. He also represents parts of Anderson, Cherokee, Henderson, Kaufman, Van Zandt, and Wood counties in East Texas.

Sessions’ 32nd District of Texas, reaches into Addison, Northwest Dallas, and Oak Cliff, Grand Prairie, Highland Park, Irving, Richardson, and University Park. The family-friendly environment surrounding White Rock Lake attracted Sessions and his wife, Nete, to Lakewood.
