This is not a photo of the actual cupcakes fans will receive at Moody. It's only our courtroom artist's interpretation of what the cupcakes would look like if they were stacked and had pretty flowers on top.
Sunday's doubleheader with women's (v. UTA at 2 p.m.) and men's (v. Texas College at 7 p.m.) basketball games is a 50th birthday party for Moody Coliseum. It includes: a rendering of the new scoreboard that will be up in late December; a rendering of the new basketball center set to open in Fall 2007; free birthday cupcakes for fans; birthday hats and balloons; a Moody Coliseum trivia contest.
Since the opening of Moody Coliseum, the men's basketball team has 48 All-Conference First-Team Selections 20 Players Drafted in the NBA 8 Conference Titles (1957, 1958, 1962, 1965, 1966, 1972, 1988, 1993) 9 NCAA Tournaments (1956 Final Four, 1957, 1965, 1966, 1967 Regional Final, 1984, 1985, 1988, 1993) 6 Conference Players of the Year 2 All-Americans (Jim Krebs 1957, Jon Koncak 1985) 2 NIT Tournaments (1986, 2000) 1 Conference Tournament Championship (1988)
Moody has also been the site of NCAA Tournament games four times (1957, 1962, 1964, 1979)
This is game number 662 at Moody Coliseum. The Mustangs are 448-213 (.678) in those games.
More Moody madness may be mulled over here.
