Dallas Landmark Commission gives the Hard Rock building thumbs down

Email Print Tell us your story Comments (8)

Today, the Hard Rock Cafe building on McKinney Avenue is one step closer to demolition, as the Landmark Commission decided to pass on a recommendation to deem the building a historic landmark.

PegNews user Haretip sends this along:

How about an update article on the Hard Rock Cafe/Baptist Church building status? Looks like the recommendation was denied in committee, but it will be up to a vote by the city council to finalize the decision. I'm planning to take off work to go to the city council meeting.

That's going to be sooooo awesome. I've been waiting for a closer CVS to open up there. WTG! Oooh, wouldn't that be cool if there was room enough for another SBUX too?

I can't believe no one has requested the new urban mecca of Pei Wei!

Any details on why they turned it down?

Q: Why didn't I notice that new Starbucks over there? (Of course you can insert Subway or CVS or whatever virus like business you'd like.)
