Today, the Hard Rock Cafe building on McKinney Avenue is one step closer to demolition, as the Landmark Commission decided to pass on a recommendation to deem the building a historic landmark.
PegNews user Haretip sends this along:
How about an update article on the Hard Rock Cafe/Baptist Church building status? Looks like the recommendation was denied in committee, but it will be up to a vote by the city council to finalize the decision. I'm planning to take off work to go to the city council meeting.

The Beach Boys with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Beach Boy trivia: Though surfing was a prominent theme in many of the Beach Boys' early songs, Dennis Wilson was the only original member who surfed. "Kokomo" was the Beach Boys' first hit in 20 years and ended up being their biggest selling single. Paul McCartney once said that "God Only Knows" was the most beautiful pop song ever written. That's going to be sooooo awesome. I've been waiting for a closer CVS to open up there. WTG! Oooh, wouldn't that be cool if there was room enough for another SBUX too?

Here's a joke for you, and all of you get to guess the punchline. (Its not a very good one so shoot me OK?)
Q: Why didn't I notice that new Starbucks over there? (Of course you can insert Subway or CVS or whatever virus like business you'd like.)
