Seguin High School volleyball player Kristine Downs commits to Texas Wesleyan
The Texas Wesleyan University’s head volleyball coach Christy Clawson announced today the signing of Kristine Downs, a 5’9” outside hitter from Fort Worth.
Downs played at Juan Seguin High School under head coach Amanda Rudolph. She was named Honorable Mention All-District in 2005 and Offensive Player of the Year in 2006.
She also played for ACE Volleyball Club 18’s in Arlington under head coach Ray Borges.
Coach Clawson was excited to add athleticism and depth to her team. “Kristine is very athletic. She will be able to play outside and right side for us next year and will add depth to our squad as part of a very strong freshman class.”
Kristine Downs is the daughter of Veronica and Calvin Downs. She intends to major in Sociology at Texas Wesleyan University.
The Lady Rams went 20-10 overall last season and have reached the NAIA’s Elite-Eight in two of the last three seasons.
