The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA) - protects individuals who are 40 years of age or older from employment discrimination based on age.

O.K. so my line of work is Hip Hop and I will be 40 years old January '08. So the above "Act" will apply to me at that time. Lol!

Some of the younger people in the Hip Hop community might argue that I am "too old" to be involved in Hip Hop. They say things like "If you haven't made it by the time your 25 then you need to give it up!" or "Hey man make room for the young cats, you had your chance."

Well I say kiss my old ass. I'm not going anywhere. So there.

No but seriously, you are only young once so please enjoy yourself but at the same time remember to respect your elders.

Anyway, I made a top 10 list of things young people in Hip Hop should know.:

10. Being "Young" doesn't automatically make you dope! There are alot of whack ass young dudes putting out crap.

09. If you're young and you sound like someone on the radio that doesn't make you cool, that makes you a copy cat. Can we get some originality please.

08. If your young ass goes to the club and everyone is dressed like you, you're not trendy, you're a clone.

07. Behind every successful "Young" act there is an older person who made it happen.

06. The majority of successful emcees out right now are in their 30's and 40's. Believe me when I tell you people lie about their age (look at not so little Wayne.)

05. No matter how cool you think you are or how trendsetting you think you may be, someone has already done it. Old cats laugh at ya cause they did it 10 or 15 years earlier.

04. If you take time to talk to these cats you might be able to avoid making some of the same mistakes they made coming up in the game.

03. If an older cat is still in the game then they must be doing something right.

02. Ever heard the saying "Young, Dumb, and full of ..." well, it's true.
