Turtle Creek Chorale chooses new Artistic Director
After cutting the selection process down to three finalists in February, Jonathan Palant was picked to become the new artistic Director on August 1, 2007. He will succeed Dr. Timothy Seelig who has held the title for 20 years, and will retire at the end of the season. The Farewell Toast concert to Dr. Seelig will take place on July 8 at the Meyerson, along with a Roast the night before at the Lakewood theater.
Board and committee members are thrilled with the selection and saw Palant as a perfect fit for his goals to expand programs, reach out to the Dallas community, and start more intergenerational concerts. He is a graduate assistant at Michigan University, and will be receiving his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting in May.
The process to find the new Artistic Director took six months. I'll spare you from the joke I could make on the word "turtle." Waa-waa-waa.
