Kid Picks for Mesquite
The Mesquite Rodeo's season is starting again and The Bunny's arrival is getting closer and closer, so check out one of these events that kids can go to:
- Nunsense presented by Mesquite Community Theatre at the Arts Center. The fun musical has only three shows left before it closes this Sunday and is great entertainment for the whole family.
- Photos with the Easter Bunny is ongoing at Town East Mall everyday until Saturday, April 9. It is located on the lower level near Sears and each child who visits will receive a treat to take home with them.
- Before the Cross at Lake Ridge Bible Church on April 5 and 6 at 7:30 p.m. until dusk. Prepare for Easter celebration by reenacting the events leading up to that joyful morning and what that means to us today. Follow the flame-lit path to the amphitheater and enjoy live music from Goodhill at 7:30 p.m. When it gets dark, the presentation of the last days of Jesus will begin.
- Easter Craft Time at the North Branch Library this Friday at 4:00 p.m., where kids get a chance to prepare and help out with Easter decorations.
- The Mesquite Championship Rodeo kicks off its 50th season this Friday and Saturday, with a 1958 Retro Night. But the night will still entail all the normal Mesquite Rodeo events, including two things for kids to do: 1) Mutton Bustin' - Each boy and girl will be judged on how well they ride for six seconds and how well their wooly mount bucks. Kids ages 4 years and older and weighing 55 pounds and under are provided with a helmet and protective vest. 2) Calf Scramble - They get to assemble in the arena, and at a given signal, they try and catch a couple of calves.
