Sports Club/LA coming to Park Lane complex in Dallas

One more thing for you to feel guilty about as you whiz by with a Whataburger and fries on your lap.

— Sports Club/LA, a really nice gym chain out of Los Angeles with branches in New York, D.C., Boston, San Francisco, and Miami, is being built at the Park Lane Place project that's going in across from NorthPark Center.

The new gym will be 80,000 square feet with a 15,000-square-foot weight-training center, 150 cardio machines with personal TVs, four studios for group fitness classes, Pilates studio, REV cycling studio, a flexibility balance center, an NBA size gymnasium with two basketball courts, a spa, clothing boutique, a sidewalk cafe, laundry service, valet parking, and about a million more amenities that will help you forget you just sweated for an hour on the treadmill.

Sports Club/LA's entry into the market will have the biggest effect on the nearby Premier Club, a few exits down 75 at Mockingbird Lane.

The Park Lane development, scheduled to open in late 2008, will include 725,000 square feet of retail, restaurants, apartments, office space, a Whole Foods, and a hotel by the boutiquey Valencia chain.
