Dallas woman chosen as finalist for PETA’s “sexiest vegetarian alive”

2

— PETA’s annual "Sexiest Vegetarian Alive" contest in which visitors to PETA’s Web site GoVeg.com vote for their favorite vegetarian celebrities, was previously limited to honest-to-God famous people such as Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell and music icon Prince.

But the animal-rights organization opened the doors for its newest contest to include normal everyday vegetarians like you or me. It just announced that Lauren Meeks, 19, of Dallas, is one of its 10 female finalists.

This Texas gal says her body became leaner and she’s become more energetic since she gave meat the boot; she doesn’t need a drop of coffee to get out of bed and into the gym in the morning.

Meeks originally went vegan after watching "Meet Your Meat," which is narrated by actor Alec Baldwin. She tells PETA that she finds the idea of wearing fur to be "repulsive" and that instead of being worn, "fur coats should be given a proper burial." Meeks' photo and bio, along with pictures of the other veggie vixens and hot hunks selected as finalists, are available at GoVeg.com. The winners—who will each spend seven nights in beautiful Maui—will be announced in early May.

Thank you for this article. Lauren is in good company: Past winners of PETA’s sexiest celebrity vegetarian contest include Carrie Underwood, Shania Twain, Alicia Silverstone, and Natalie Portman, among dozens of other veggie vixens.

Why are so many Tofutti cuties swearing off meat? Fatty animal foods can make your belly bulge and your energy sag, killing both your sex drive and your sex appeal. Vegetarians tend to be slimmer than their carnivorous counterparts—without having to count calories—and they have better “endurance” (meat-free diets help ward off heart disease, cancer, stroke, and other debilitating diseases, so vegetarians live longer).

My vote for sexiest vegetarian goes to Adrian Paredes, the sexy 26 year old from El Paso, TX. who happens to also be a reeling (but sweet) activist.
