DALLAS Belo Corp. announced today that 10 of its television stations earned 27 regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for 2007, including three for local station WFAA. The regional Murrow Awards are given by the Radio- Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) which recognizes outstanding achievement in electronic journalism and acknowledges news organizations for continuing to set the standard in the broadcast news profession.
"It is a great honor for our journalists to be recognized by RTNDA with such a large number of regional Murrow Awards," said Dunia Shive, Belo's president and chief operating officer. "At Belo, we strongly believe in setting the highest journalistic standards. These awards are the result of the dedication of our professionals to these standards and illustrate why Belo's news-producing stations hold top positions in their markets."
The RTNDA presented a total of 315 regional awards this year, and has recognized outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. Regional winners are eligible for national awards that will be announced in June.
WFAA brought back Region 6 trophies for Spot News Coverage, Feature: Hard News and Videography.

Karaoke Oh yeah, you know you wanna belt it out like you're alone in the car. The microphone beckons. What else do you have to do on a Monday night? I mean besides watching football? If this is a bit far from your neighborhood, don't worry. There is a karaoke machine near you just waiting. More info
