Writer B. H. Fairchild to speak at UNT
Strange brew: poetry in the chemistry building.
On April 24 at 8 p.m., writer B. H. Fairchild, author of the poetry collection The Art of the Lathe and yet another collection of verse called, curiously, Early Occult Memory Systems of the Lower Midwest, will appear as if from the veritable aether at the UNT Chemistry Building (Room 109) to do some undoubtedly mellifluous reading from his written works.
I'm betting he could also compose a few verses on the fly if attendees decided to hold his veritable feet to the veritable fire, but that's pure speculation. Besides, what level of creativity should one expect for free?
Wanna know the quality of poetry you'll be listening to if you decide to attend? Here's a quote from the American Library Association's review posted on Amazon:
"If strong emotion courses through Fairchild's work, it never makes it lachrymose."
Thank God! Because I, like many others, am severely allergic to milk products.
